I have many years experience working with student services programs all of which served diverse populations of students and focused on their recruitment, retention, and successful graduation. From these programs I have gained a breadth of experience working specifically with underrepresented students. As a first-generation college student myself, I understand the importance of diversity and support at an institution, and that motivates me to instill in these students the tools that I only wish I would have had through my educational career. I have always had an almost obligatory need to give back to my community; to empower young adults through education, at whatever level that may be. I want to inspire students to do better than we have done and to succeed beyond our expectations of them. It is for these reasons and many more that I am have undertaken a career in student services.
